  • Let's face it, if you want a decent mp3 player iTunes is hard to beat. A smooth user friendly interface, flexible playlists, ratings and more options than you can shake a stick at and they are even now offering DRM-free mp3s. But at 80Mb this piece of software is more bloated than a middle aged family man on Christmas afternoon, what on earth is contained within all that code? Windows media player has improved dramitcally over the years but it stills lags behing iTunes in the userbility stakes and lite players like winamp are just too cumbersome for the casual user. Also Apple seem to think that everytime I get the latest version of iTunes I also want quicktime (with no option to reject this) and they keep trying to give me safari hoping that one day I'll forget to uncheck the box. and don't get me started on the ridiculous bonjour service that invisibly installs itself AND runs on your PC everytime you boot it up. Apple, sort it out!
